Evaluation and improvement of health care delivery for people with advanced disease - clinical & health services research vs public health research
The Centre for Palliative Care and the Victorian Comprehensive Cancer Centre will be co-hosting the Annual Lecture in Palliative Care. Luc Deliens, PhD, is a Professor of Palliative Care Research, Founding Director of the End-of-Life Care Research Group at VUB University & Ghent University in Belgium and a member of the Royal Academy of Medicine of Belgium. His team of 57 is Belgium's largest research group in palliative care and are within the top-3 in the field of palliative care research in Europe.
Internationally, he chairs European Association for Palliative Care (EAPC) Reference Group on Public Health and Palliative Care and co-chairs the EAPC Research Network, and is involved in different on-going EU funded research projects. He successfully supervised 37 PhDs and is currently supervising about 25 PhD students. He has published over 500 papers or book chapters and received several scientific awards for his scientific work.
